the Weekend~

On Saturday, we decided to go to Aiins World. This is where all the major monuments or buildings of the world is reconstructed in miniature size. It was around an hour away from Seoul. It is actually located in Bucheon. You can call it sort of a bedroom community for Seoul. It's actually really relaxing to be in Bucheon,  compared to Seoul as there are more greenery and parks there. However, we were there to go to Aiins World. It was a really cheap entrance fee of only 10,000 KRW. They had almost everything and it was really entertaining to take pictures with these miniature sizes of these monuments and buildings. They had an education center as well for kids but we didn't go there. Although it was geared primarily for elementary school students, we were there to take interesting pictures and to "travel the world" in one day.

We decided to walk around Bucheon a bit instead of taking the bus back to the subway station after we took our wonderful pictures. It was really cool to feel in a neighborhood for once again rather than just part of the city. Living in the dorms takes away that feeling of living in a neighborhood in a sense. It was like walking back to my home stay last semester. The weather that day was really nice and actually border-lining hot. It was around 27 degrees at one point of the day. However, the strong wind would blow sporadically, which made it bearable to walk around. Since the weather was really good, when we walked passed by the park, there were a lot of families or couple out having a picnic or just enjoying the sun there. I don't know if I can say enjoying the sun here, when they bring their tents to a park. I'm not saying those light tents that provide shade for a little bit but legit camping tents. It doesn't make sense to me, or to my friends. The parks in Bucheon remind me so much of the parks back in Canada. Although there are not that many trees as it is in Canadian parks, there are still way more trees and greens or flowerbeds then they do have in parks in Seoul. The air was also better to breathe in Bucheon. I think, I would really enjoy staying there for a bit, a weekend would be perfect!
I think we walked around an hour or so before we headed back to Hongdae and chilled at our favorite Sheep Cafe. It's actually called Thanks Nature Cafe but we call it a Sheep Cafe because there's Sheep there! 2 of them! They are absolutely adorable. The coffee, the service, the food in the cafe is absolutely the best! We rarely go to Hongdae but when we do, that's where we like to hang out because the atmosphere is absolutely the best. We called it the day afterwards because we started pretty early in the morning and by the time we got back to Seoul, it was already 6 or 7 ish?
The next day, I had nothing to do. My friend woke up early to go to a music show while I stayed back to sleep in and to do some laundry. However, no matter how much I slept in, I was still tired the whole day. It was really weird. When the prerecording for the artist that my friend went to see ended and when the laundry was finished, we met up and did some exploration of Seoul? We went to Garusu-gil, which is the artsy area of Seoul. If we compare it to Vancouver it's like the Granville Island? Since the road is very close to an art institution, so there are boutiques of graduates of the institution. There is a lot of high class shopping there, so obviously we didn't do much shopping. We primarily went there to walk around, chilled at a coffee shop where we did some people watching. It was really interesting. You know you were in a high class area when you see 4 Mercedes Benz and 1 Jaguar car in the span of only an hour. The variety of people in the area was very interesting as well. There were way more foreigners than we expected but it's also in an area that is most foreigner friendly I guess. The people watching really passed time for us before we headed back after doing some grocery shopping. We watched a movie while eating grapes before heading to sleep late.

I think we slept a little too late because when I had my morning class, I was really tired, I think I fell a sleep for 15 minutes at one point during the class. I got my midterm back for my East Asian Religion & Culture class and I did way better than I thought. I got 90! So much better than I thought. So I'm happy about that! The rest of the day was nothing special and today as well, I have nothing really planned. My friend is going to another music show and I could go with her but there's no one really I want to see except two artists and I don't have the necessary sign ups and CDs to get into the show with certain fanclubs. It's okay, I can relax today and watch some dramas, or movies or maybe even work on a cover.
First I have to go to class at one though. It's a movie class, I'm watching a Chinese language cinema film. Going to be interesting. Well, until something interesting happens this week, I'll write then. However, I think it's going to be a lot of boring and down time for the rest of the week. Until next time~ \(^0^)/

Transfer and Communication

So, I arrived in Seoul after a long 14 hour trip. 14? maybe even 15. The layover in Shanghai was brutal to say the least. Well the flight to Shanghai itself was brutal as well. First, there was no tv like i'm used to on long flight travels. Second, My laptop wasn't fully charged, so I couldn't even use it for long as I was saving it for the layover. Third, Food/service on the plane wasn't that great. I got 2 meals and some sort of sandwich snack. Also, I told you yesterday about gate checking in my guitar? Well, that didn't work out well. At least they let me put it in the overhead compartment besides it being a full flight. However, I sat beside a really nice person who helped me. The flight attendants were not really good at understanding English, so the person beside me helped me ask the flight attendants what to do and etc. So the 12 hr flight to Shanghai was brutal with me fighting to sleep or staring into nothingness, attempt at conversation to the perso

Osaka! Takarazuka! Junsu?

So where do I begin? Last time I told you I was going to update in Japan but I ended up not doing that because on the flight to Japan, I made friends with the person beside me. We somehow connected in conversations during the flight over that, before she had to move on to Shanghai, thought we should chill together a little bit more. (Which reminds me that I need to e-mail her). Anyways, the flight over to Korea eventually was uneventful besides the turbulence in the beginning, well landing in Japan was very turbulent as well. The weather was not great at that time to say the least. Landed safely and I was happy to see that my friends had came to pick me up. Keeping it Korean style, decided to take a picture of my arrival/reunion. We caught up with each other on the way to the friend's place I'm staying at, and it really felt surreal for me to be back in Korea. It was nice and welcoming at the same time it was... yup I'm in Korea... kind of reaction. Since my plane lande

Now that I am home

I have been back home for 3 days already. It feels more like a week already because this stupid jetlag is not helping me at all. Today is the 11th already. It doesn't feel like it. Today? Yesterday? well on the 10th, I meant to wake up earlier... like 10 in the morning but instead, I woke at around 4 in the evening. Just in time for the dinner gathering my family had with my aunt and uncle that came by from the other side of Canada. It was nice to see them again but the whole time I was kicking myself in my head because I didn't wake up earlier. Now I am suffering from the consequences... It sucks because outside... there is light already.  I should go to bed because there is another family gathering I have to go to at 9:30am and I have an orientation thing that I have to go to with the volunteering thing I am doing this summer at 1pm... and I think I might have to drive for it. But here's the thing... I can't sleep.  Sleep~ please come to me now... at least for
