Bad and average days.

Yesterday... it was relatively a bad day. First, stayed up a little too late the day before because of the tweets I was receiving from one of the members of WE. and then woke up a little too late for my first class so decided to just sleep in and not go to class. >_>  I'm sorry. However did go to my afternoon class, which was very interesting but at the same time confusing. This is my East Asian religion class and we are learning about Taoism. Taoism is very interesting but sometimes it goes around in circles and sometimes really hard to grasp the philosophy behind it. Despite these difficulties I really enjoy the class. Also, it was only a one hour class so it's not THAT bad. After class decided to chill in a coffee shop and work on a fan project for WE. This is where we were translating fan letters from English and Japanese to Korean. Hard task but we managed and made a pretty book. Still not done yet because we need to make sure the Korean is okay and understandable ...

WE the BEST

Today's post is very much Kpop related. So the group that my friend and I created a fanclub for is a group called WE. They are modeled on the black eyed peas and unlike most korean artists these days, their age is older. Way older. Also, they are not idols. Anyways, so my friend who is volunteering for MNet had a mission she had to do and that was to make a kpop cover song. So since we are both WE fans, we decided to cover WE's song called Rainy Days. It was WE's debut song last year's november. Both of us practiced hard because the song involved rapping... in Korean. Yesterday we finally finished the cover and the video that went along with it and uploaded it on youtube. Here it is We got an immediate response from one of the members of WE on twitter and then this morning, the ENTERTAINMENT COMPANY posted the link to our youtube with a message telling people to check it out and that they were touched watching it. Right now, I still don't know how to feel wi...

Back in Korea: Kpop adventures!

So... now that I am back in Seoul and have moved into dorms, my life has been a lot more busier than when I was in my home stay. Having your best friend as your roommate also doesn't help ease the hecticness as well. Especially when you have the same interests. K-POP! In terms of my university studies, this semester I am taking a lot more classes then last semester and also I am not taking the Korean language classes. Primarily because the classes I am taking this semester are a lot more intensive then before. Also... I want the evenings to be free so I can go to free k-pop shows! >0< For the first week since I moved into dorms, I went to K-pop shows. Went to see Brian Joo's comeback stage and I also went to see my ultimate favorite K-pop artist, SE7EN! The most awesome thing of it all, I managed to become an official fan club member and won a ticket to the fan signing event! After that I went to some of the new K-pop shows and less popular ones. For example, my fr...

It's been awhile pt.2

For my winter break, I went to Indonesia to visit my mom's side of the family there for around a 2-week vacation. As soon as I arrived I went straight to the house my father designed and where my aunt has been living in. It was weird to come from around -14 degrees celsius to 26 degrees celsius with a ridiculous high percentage of humidity. It was great to hang around my family, I haven't seen them since I left for Canada. That was when I was in middle school? The next day my family and I went straight to the airport again to board the plane to go a small island in Indonesia. The island is called Belitong. It was the shooting location of a very famous Indonesian movie called, Lastar Pelangi. I didn't know about it until I arrived to be honest. Actually, never heard about the island until I landed at the location. Belitong is very very remote. Public transportation in Belitong is basically rent a car or ride a scooter or ride a boat. My family and I were there for around ...
